Karen Tepper
Karen Tepper is a registered Psychologist in private practice at Macquarie Psychology in Hobart, Tasmania. In 2002, she became increasingly interested in Mindfulness practice and has from this time worked to integrate Western Psychology and Mindfulness approaches. Karen's therapeutic approach focuses on developing awareness, enhancing well-being and increasing self- support. Her work is informed by her appreciation of the value of Mindfulness practice.

 

With over 10 years experience working in different contexts, Karen has gained extensive and varied experience. She has worked with individuals and couples, adults, children and adolescents, in Private Practice, Community Mental Health, Child & Adolescent Forensic Mental Health, Welfare, and Court facilities.

 

Short-term treatment approaches are individually designed to every client's needs to provide long-lasting results. She provides counselling and psychotherapy for a range of problems, including relationship and marital difficulties, parenting concerns, anxiety and depression, self-esteem, confidence, and personal development, work and career issues, grief and loss, addictive behaviours and family-of-origin issues.

 

Karen can provide psychological assessment to investigate possible learning or attention problems, ability, personality type and career planning.

 

Karen’s main treatment interests are in health, exercise and lifestyle behaviours. She is currently conducting research in this area as the final part of a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology.

 

Karen creates a respectful therapeutic environment where individuals may resolve difficulties and increase their capacity for personal growth and fulfilling relationships.
