Choosing the right psychologist is important.
At Macquarie Psychology, each clinician has particular areas of interest, training, and experience (for example: trauma, anxiety, mood, neuropsychology, couples work, veterans, or workplace stress). The best match depends on:
– What you’d like help with (e.g. anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief, relationship or work issues)
– How you prefer to work (structured and skills-focused, more exploratory, mindfulness-based, etc.)
– Practical factors such as availability, funding (e.g. DVA, NDIS, MAIB), and whether you prefer in-person or telehealth
You can:
– Browse our “Find a Psychologist” page to read each clinician’s profile and areas of interest.
– Ask your GP if they have a particular recommendation, especially if they know our team.
– Contact reception, let us know a little about what you’re looking for, and we can suggest one or two clinicians who may be a good fit.
If at any point it feels like the match isn’t quite right, you’re welcome to discuss a transfer to another clinician.
